Insulating with AttiCat® Loosefill InsulationInstalling insulation in your home is one of the most efficient ways to reduce your energy bill; nothing keeps heat in better. Our insulation products come in two major forms – Insulation rolls, and Loose fill blown-in Insulation. Here is what you can expect from either of these products:
| Advantages of InsulationThere is absolutely no situation where choosing to install insulation in your home is a bad idea. If you’re having mold issues in your home, it could be due to condensation. Since condensation typically forms on cold surfaces, increasing the indoor temperature will reduce this. Installing insulation helps trap heat in your home, thus reducing condensation and the likelihood that mold will grow!
In climates that are generally hot, a good way to reduce energy use is through a high-quality ventilation system. A poorly ventilated attic can put unnecessary strain on your home’s cooling system. We can install rafter vents between your attic’s rafters. This creates a nice air flow, removing air that is built-up with heat, and allowing fresh air to flow through. Your home HVAC system will have a much longer life span thanks to your rafter vents! | Insulation RollsInsulation in this form is sold and handled much like carpet. It is purchased in large rolls, it can be purchased in varying degrees of thickness based on how energy efficient you want to be. Installation is simple, the only necessary tools are a sharp utility knife, and protective gear. Insulation is packed with fiberglass, so it’s important that you handle with gloves, a protective mask, and safety glasses to avoid irritation.
While installing, the general process is rolling out insulation over the desired spaces. Make sure it’s snug throughout the process, otherwise you could have gaps in your insulation, which will reduce it’s effectiveness by at least 25%! |

| Loose Fill Blown-In Insulation
If you’re worried about gaps, and don’t mind spending a little extra cash up-front, consider loose fill blown-in insulation. This style of insulation is sold as a foam. Using a wallspray insulation vacuum, application is incredibly simple! The insulation vacuum fluffs the foam, creating millions of air pockets. This type of insulation will never settle, it will remain just as effective at insulation as when you initially install it!
